Well Kids…I asked the question several times of myself during the presidential campaign where the money was going to come from to fund all of the promises that Barack Obama was promising. Remember, we can’t afford the war in Iraq/Afghanistan. Well is looks like democratic congress and the democratic president want to raise our gas prices. We already have to deal with OPEC and what they do with our oil over seas now we have to pay attention at home as well. With today’s price of regular unleaded at $1.659, 10% of that goes to the Federal Gov’t. The proposed plan is to raise it another 33% of what the current tax is. Same goes for diesel. Just when we thought we could get a gas price break, they spring this on us. All this is going on while our democratic led congress is giving themselves a pay raise…Our economy is struggling so lets give the wealthiest people more money!

Where are you finding this information? I looked around and found no information about a federal tax increase on gas.

It’s not as though the Democratic-led Congress decided they needed a pay raise. The pay increase for Congress is an automatic, annual one. I hardly find it fair to lay that at the Democrats’ feet. There are several Democrats speaking out against the bill. (http://www.myrecordjournal.com/site/tab1.cfm?newsid=20232929&BRD=2755&PAG=461&dept_id=592709&rfi=6).

And getting money into the hands of the wealthiest people seems like a true conservative view point. Trickle-down, Reagan-style economics. Are we turning against Reagan, the one every Republican tries so hard to be? Give benefits or tax cuts to the wealthiest and everyone wins, right?

I would like to see where you got this information. All I could find was state legislators proposing such plans with little support.

Ok…so this will be the last time that I listen to the reporters from KELOLAND TV. She said Congress and mentioned Barack Obama in the story but in reality its the SD Legislature. So scratch that post

I too have been burned by misleading info from Keloland.

But then again I’m a fan of the gas tax idea, so take whatever I say with a grain of salt.

  4. thanks !! very helpful post!

I was just looking through old posts and found this one. It is worse than you thought when you wrote this Dr! Not only are they spending money they don’t have, but they have no way to cover it and there is no end in sight! But hey, it’s all the fault of Bush spending too much, even though Bush never spent what Obama is spending, it’s still somehow his fault, right?

Incredible that the left is so stinking blind as to actually justify Obama’s outrageous spending with stupid and childish excuses about the previous president. There is no excuse and will likely be no recovery for what Obama is doing in Washington. It has to be stopped.

I have really learned new things as a result of your blog. One other thing I want to say is the fact that newer computer system os’s often allow extra memory to use, but they as well demand more ram simply to operate. If your computer is unable to handle much more memory as well as newest software program requires that ram increase, it may be the time to shop for a new Laptop. Thanks

great points altogether, you just received a new reader. What could you recommend about your submit that you just made a few days in the past? Any sure?

Should the Bush tax cuts end for those that make $1,000,000 per year and up?
