So we all remember how often Cheney liked to say there was a connection between Iraq and Al Qaeda, right? He and others even said it so much that people attributed some blame to Hussein and Iraqis for 9/11. Obviously, this led to increased support for the Iraq War.
Here’s a video of Cheney:
It came out that there was no link, no matter how badly Cheny hoped there was one. And he hoped pretty badly. It recently came out that the Bush administration used torture to seek a link between Iraq and Al Qaeda. It’s always great when you’re torturing with the purpose of uncovering non-existent information.
That’s all been said, but there is some new information on the fictional link front. Cheney now says there was never any proof of a link between Al Qaeda and Iraq. Many people have said the Bush administration lied to America about the reasons behind the Iraq War, but this sounds awful close to an admission from Dick Cheney. If his goal in talking to reporters and givings speeches is to protect the legacy of the Bush administration, he just failed miserably.
Enjoy Up.

I’m no defender of D.C. or W… they made mistakes. They misled people. They are politicians. By the time B.O. is out of office, we should be seeing similar videos about him.
My concern is the sarcastic remark about “It’s always great when you’re torturing with the purpose of uncovering non-existent information.”
First of all there is a difference between the U.S. Military’s enhanced interrogation techniques and true torture. Splitting hairs? Maybe. But every time you complain about waterboarding, nude human pyramids, sleep deprivation, disgracing the Koran, or any other enhanced technique I want you watch the video of Daniel Pearl getting his head chopped off.
And then I want you to list the names of all the terrorists, killed in the custody of American interrogators.
Then I want you to watch the video again.
We should be serving those prisoners bacon and beer three meals a day just to disgrase them. The terrorists who get the harshest interrogation are the most deadly. They are animals, trained to endure interrogation. If waterboarding 1,000 muslim terrorists saved one American soldier… I say good deal…
Those of you who have never fought for this country, tread on thin ice telling others how to win a war.
Kevin M, well said!
You might want to look through the recent archives. I laid out my thoughts very thoroughly. Torture is never okay and we tortured. Also, many of the people at Gauntanamo were or may be found innocent.
We should never stoop to their level.
If you want to know what I think and why, just go back through some recent stuff.
Kevin. Don’t take the time to review. Make this guy lay his argument out for you. The give and take, if you should choose to do so, is entertaining in its naive approach. When you have the limited life experience of Adam, all this becomes nothing more than an acedemic exercise offered from the comfort a chair while wearing football jersey. If, on the other hand, your experience extends beyond 30 hours of college credit and daily marching orders from the KOS, the threat from our enemies takes on real meaning. I suspect your experience goes beyond this as does mine. Kevin, treat this as a diversion into the soft mind and body of the left and enjoy the ride.
Football jersey? That’s some great stuff. Maybe you could have called it stained to really paint a great picture. Also, it would have been better if you had said the comfort of a beanbag chair, but it’s okay. Just need to work on your zingers a little bit. You might also have added a food joke to really get at me. Something about hot pockets in my mom’s basement. Giving me only 30 hours of college credit wasn’t bad, but you could have improved it by claiming the hours are from a less-than-reputable institution, perhaps Colorado. I’m not sure where you were going with the KOS comment, because I’m not sure if you’re talking about Daily Kos or something else. Maybe a better idea would have been to use Jon Stewart. That way, not only could you have dropped the “marching orders” line, you could have also used the classic gay-as-insult routine. You know, “Adam’s gay for Stewart” or some such thing. But all told, not bad for an experienced guy.
My favorite was “soft mind and body”, but I accept yur praise with gratitude. Truthfully, I thought the 30 hours was a bit generous. Let’s make it 30 hours of Women’s Studies and call it a draw. Nope. . .won’t take the “gay” bait. Hillary Duff say’s thats wrong. Just was wondering. . . who’s Hillary Duff?
Oh wow…all I can do is laugh…nice work guys
