Who cares. That is my thoughts on it.
If I am a student at ND regardless of political offiliation, I am going to be pretty excited that the president wants to speak at my commencement.
As someone I know said about the issue that has people at the college all fired up, “Do you think that the president is going to convince thousands of graduates to change how they feel about abortion.”
I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Looks like Mr. President could possibly be going back on a campaign promise about Guantanamo Bay. According to the NY times and Fox News Story Obama Considers Reviving Military Commission System the Justice Dept has said that the Obama Admin is considering revivng the military commission system that prosecuted terriorism suspects that were held at Guantanamo Bay. This commission was heavily criticized by Obama during the campaign in 2008.
Obviously some changes will be made and would take congressional approval, but it looks to me that our president can’t make up his mind.
Enjoy Manny being Manny
Well Kids…I asked the question several times of myself during the presidential campaign where the money was going to come from to fund all of the promises that Barack Obama was promising. Remember, we can’t afford the war in Iraq/Afghanistan. Well is looks like democratic congress and the democratic president want to raise our gas prices. We already have to deal with OPEC and what they do with our oil over seas now we have to pay attention at home as well. With today’s price of regular unleaded at $1.659, 10% of that goes to the Federal Gov’t. The proposed plan is to raise it another 33% of what the current tax is. Same goes for diesel. Just when we thought we could get a gas price break, they spring this on us. All this is going on while our democratic led congress is giving themselves a pay raise…Our economy is struggling so lets give the wealthiest people more money!
I think McCain should start talking about community organizers. I think his opponent has been touting his record as one for the last couple of years. Take the time to see a young Obama appear a few minutes in - it’s an interesting video and worth your time.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. When my hunter friends ask me if Obama is going to take away their rifles and shotguns, the answer is no. The weapons required to hunt will, of course, be available.
When I read through the list posted, everything seemed to make sense. His policies seem to allow hunters what they need to hunt while trying to deter gun violence.

I wonder if John McCain’s political career had started off all those years ago in the home of an Eric Rudolph type – unrepentant abortion clinic bomber who became a professor at a prestigous school – would the media think it was a big deal and worth investigating? Would they scream dirty politics if Obama brought it up on the campaign trail? Thankfully John McCain wasn’t associating with people like this to advance his early political career.
Look at what Bill Ayers wrote in his memoir. He is quoted as saying one year before John McCain was released as a POW.
Everything was absolutely ideal on the day I bombed the Pentagon.
The sky was blue. The birds were singing. And the bastards were finally going to get what was coming to them.
September, 11 2001 Ayers said to the New York Times NYTimes Article – No Regrets for a Love Of Explosives; In a Memoir of Sorts, a War Protester Talks of Life With the Weathermen
”I don’t regret setting bombs,” Bill Ayers said. ”I feel we didn’t do enough.”
Here’s what Hillary Clinton had to say during the dem debate:
….I also believe that Senator Obama served on a board with Mr. Ayers for a period of time, the Woods Foundation, which was a paid directorship position.
And, if I’m not mistaken, that relationship with Mr. Ayers on this board continued after 9/11 and after his reported comments, which were deeply hurtful to people in New York and, I would hope, to every American, because they were published on 9/11, and he said that he was just sorry they hadn’t done more.
And what they did was set bombs. And in some instances, people died. So it is — I think it is, again, an issue that people will be asking about.
BTW what is the difference between asociating with Rev. Jeremiah Wright and David Duke? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36T1fnIafC0
