BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — VINES announced on Friday that it has received one of the PepsiCo Foundation’s 2024 Community Impact Awards.
The PepsiCo Foundation is PepsiCo, Inc.‘s philanthropic branch. It is part of Pepsi’s efforts to support local communities. The program gives local communities valuable programming like community gardening, urban farming, and youth employment.
VINES said it is one of 100 public charities across the United States and Canada to receive the Community Impact Award. In addition to receiving the award, VINES also received $7,500 with it.
Executive Director of VINES Amelia LoDolce said she’s honored to receive the award.
“We’re honored to receive this recognition and award to support our work. VINES is serving over 3,000 people annually in the Binghamton area through our 22 community gardens, year-round youth employment program, Farm Share veggie box program, and more,” LoDolce said. “Food security is a major issue in our community, and we’re grateful to be able to help people access affordable and fresh local produce.”
