According to Conde Nast Traveler, they are among the top 10 places to visit in North America and the Caribbean in 2025.
Travel experts “painted with the broadest strokes possible” to compile the list, which was published this week. It includes beachside hideaways, glacial adventures and a desert road trip for the ages.
The Space Coast was the only Florida location mentioned. In fact, it was the only U.S. place east of the Rocky Mountains cited.
“It’s not all space travel and remote landscapes,” the publication read. “Space Coast, Florida, is where you can claim your spot to witness historic rocket launches (and sample more earthly adventures like kayaking through its bioluminescent waters).”
Why the Space Coast was listed among the best places to travel in 2025
Frequent rocket launches was a big reason, as well as the hopefully return of humans to the moon in 2025.
The publication made note of the outdoor activities available, like witnessing sea turtle nesting season along the county’s 72 acres of shoreline. It also pointed out something locals have long known: the Indian River Lagoon is one of the best places in the world to see bioluminescence.
“During clear-bottom kayak trips with outfitters like BK Adventure, travelers can watch pops of glowing teal bejewel the inky water – the result of millions of tiny light-producing dinoflagellates and comb jellies reacting to movement,” Conde Nast Traveler said.
