Haiti – Qatar 2025 Qualifiers : Our Grenadiers dominate Antigua and Barbuda [3-0]

On Thursday, February 13, 2025, as part of its participation in the qualifying phase of the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean States (CONCACAF) Champions League for the U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025, our Grenadiers faced the “Benna Boys” of Antigua and Barbuda on the pitch of the Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala.
Starting lineup :
To face Antigua and Barbuda, coach Eddy César relied on the same starting lineup that had won [5-0] against St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The match was largely dominated by Haiti, but had to rely on three penalties to make the difference. Franco Célestin opened the score in the 14th minute and Emerson Laissé converted two other penalties in the 34th and 82nd minutes.

With 6 points and a difference of +8, our Grenadiers remain at the top of the Group E standings, despite Guatemala’s large victory [5-0] against Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The Guatemalans, also at 6 points, have a goal difference of +6 and occupy second place.
The decisive match for first place in the group will pit Haiti against Guatemala on Sunday, February 16. Let us recall that the team that finishes first in its Group will directly validate its ticket for the final phase of the World Cup, which will be held in Qatar from November 5 to 27, 2025. A draw will be enough for Eddy César’s Grenadiers to secure their third historic qualification for this competition after 2007 and 2019.
