Billionaire Elon Musk met Argentina’s President Javier Milei at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington. The highlight of their meeting was Milei gifting Musk a chainsaw, symbolising the world’s richest man’s role in US President Donald Trump’s administration. The chainsaw that Milei gifted has the name of Elon Musk engraved into it. The chainsaw also has a phrase in Spanish that translates to “Long live freedom, dam it” in English. As soon as Musk was presented with the power tool, he waved it before a cheering crowd. The power tool is a symbol of the deep cuts Milei has made to Argentina’s state spending, sparking a series of paralyzing protests. Now, Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is undertaking similar budget cuts for the Trump administration.
