After losing to Panama and the inadmissible Weah’s red card, the U.S. awaits the outcome of the match against Uruguay to determine its standing in the Copa America tournament’s group stage. Uruguay’s coach will miss the match as the team was found in violation of tournament time-table rules, resulting in a $15,000 fine for the Uruguayan Football Association.
USA vs. Uruguay – (Kansas City, Missouri) 8:00 p.m. ET
The USA will conclude group play on Monday by hosting Uruguay at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. The American team suffered a 2-1 defeat against Panama, leaving them narrowly ahead on goal difference for second place. Uruguay, meanwhile, all but secured a spot in the quarter-finals with a resounding 5-0 victory over Bolivia. The return of Gregg Berhalter as head coach has brought inconsistency to the American team, making their path to the quarter-finals difficult.
The recent 2-1 defeat against Panama was the first time the USA failed to win a Copa America match after scoring the first goal since their 4-1 loss to Argentina in 2007. Notably, the team has not lost consecutive games in 2024. Following their defeat this year against Colombia (5-1), they managed a 1-1 draw against Brazil.
Bolivia vs. Panama – (Orlando, Florida) 8:00 p.m. ET
As they approach their final match of the 2024 Copa America, Panama will need a win and some help to advance to the knockout stage for the first time. On Monday, they will face Bolivia at the Inter & Co Stadium in Orlando.
After a 5-0 defeat to Uruguay, Bolivia sits at the bottom of Group C with no points. Panama secured a 2-1 victory over the United States and is close behind them for second place. Panama still has a chance to advance, but Bolivia would need a remarkable turn of events to stay in contention.
Bolivia must win and hope that Uruguay defeats the United States by at least a seven-goal difference to advance. However, this seems unlikely as Bolivia has faced a 13-match losing streak in Copa America group fixtures since 2015. Additionally, they have struggled to score goals, remaining goalless in six Copa America group contests during their current losing streak.

If Bolivia fails to score in the upcoming match, it will be the first time since the 2001 Copa America that they have concluded the group phase without scoring a goal. Furthermore, Bolivia has not defeated a CONCACAF opponent since their 5-0 win against Trinidad and Tobago in a 2022 friendly, having lost three consecutive matches against teams from that region.
