Wolves could make use of their connections in South American again, with the club looking at young talent from Paraguay.
The scouting team at Molineux are always looking to bring in top prospects, with the mantra at Wolves these days very much about unearthing starlets with superstar potential.
Wolves struck gold with the signing of Joao Gomes in January 2023.
The Brazilian is now one of the top ball-winning midfielders in the Premier League, and has a very exciting future. He stands to make Wolves a lot of money later down the line.
Wolves also completed a move for Enso Gonzalez, but he is yet to make his mark at Molineux.
Now, the club look to have identified another young star from South America.

It has been reported by the Daily Express today that Wolves have identified Gabriel Aguayo as a potential summer addition.
Aguayo plays his football for Paraguayan side Cerro Porteno, for whom he made his debut last season. He scored one goal and made four assists in 18 appearances.
Versatile Aguayo is a winger who can play on both sides, but can also play inside. He is said to have earned admirers for his ‘high work rate’, which potentially makes him very appealing for Gary O’Neil, who has placed a lot of emphasis on that and his players having high fitness levels since he came to Wolves.
Apparently, Aguayo could be available for around £3 million, which is the same amount Wolves paid for another young winger of theirs Chiquinho.
It is claimed Wolves could make an offer later in the window, as they tend to more pressing matters.
But Wolves ought to be wary. Two clubs from the MLS – Nashville SC and D.C. United – are both keen as well.
Cerro Porteno would prefer to sanction a permanent exit for the player.
Wolves’ transfer strategy is clear
So Wolves have eyes on another young player from South America and it remains to be seen if Aguayo is someone who’ll become the subject of a bid.
The club’s MO in the transfer market these days is fairly clear.
After the signing of Gomes, it was reported that Wolves would be looking to sign players of a similar profile (young and unpolished, with the potential to become top players).
We have seen Wolves follow this strategy this summer with the signings of Pedro Lima and Rodrigo Gomes and to a lesser extent Jorgen Strand Larsen, who is a bit older at 24.
Hopefully, O’Neil is able to develop these guys and help them become the top players the recruitment officials felt they could when the club signed them.
