Relatives and friends are advised of the passing of Peter Drigo on July 18, 2024, at the Roy Schneider Hospital. He was 87 years old. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alma Challenger; father, Evans Drigo; brother, Mitchell James; daughter, Bernadette Drigo and grandson, Amery Harris.
Peter Drigo surviving family includes wife, Cynthia Drigo; daughters, Daria Drigo, Marcella Drigo, Miriam Drigo and Estella Houston; sons, Linus Drigo and Taddeus Drigo; son-in-law, Shawn Houston; daughter-in-law, Elsie Drigo, sister-in-law, Elena Daway-James; grandchildren, Collin Jno.Finn, Susan Jarvis, Shawn Drigo, Thaddeus Drigo Jr., Lenny Drigo, Jamel Houston, and Jailin Houston; great grandchildren, Serenity Willis, Azeus and Ayreez Harris, and Jayvion Thompson.
He also leaves to mourn his passing, sisters, Cynthia Beausoleil and her family, Linda Francis and her family, Diane Scotland and her family; brothers, Mayan Vigilant and his family, Steven Drigo and his family, and John Baptiste Drigo; God daughter, Jacinta Bannis; adopted son and caretaker, Richie Forvil; members of Bovoni Baptiste Church, former employees of Tri-Mart Convenient Stores, staff of Ritz Carlton Hotel, members of Word of Faith Church. Neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. White, Medora Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. Nestor Blaize, and a host of relatives and friends including Stan and Avelline Mason and those in the US Virgin Islands, Dominica, St. Lucia and the United States of America.
In search for better opportunities and life, Peter migrated from his birthplace Dominica. He came to St. Thomas over 50 years ago and for most of this time he lived on Sugar Estate, St. Thomas. During his years on St. Thomas, he worked at Gottlieb Service Center, TriMart Convenient Stores, Café Britania and the Ritz Carlton Hotel. Although most of his family lives in Florida, he loved St. Thomas and made it his home and the place he wanted to die.
Those who had the opportunity to work with Peter and got to know him, will describe him as generous, kind, honest, helpful and friendly.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday August 10, 2024, at Word of Faith Church (Old Mill). Viewing at 9 a.m. with service at 10 a.m. Interment private.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Turnbull Funeral Home & Crematory Services, 10 Crown Bay, St. Thomas USVI.
