Honduras signed credit lines totaling $350 million with Latin American development bank CAF to finance infrastructure projects, on-lending to coffee growers and social spending, Finance Minister Marlon Ochoa said Tuesday.
The government will use some $160 million to finance works for the San Pedro Sula-Occidente highway, $40 million for lending to small coffee growers, $70 million for infrastructure and energy projects and $80 million for a social inclusion program, Ochoa said in a post on X.
Neither the Honduran government or CAF provided the tenor or other pricing details.
In July, the board of CAF gave its blessing for a series of loans totaling $2.7 billion across eight Latin American countries, including $80 million to Honduras, which became a member country last November.
