Colombia’s ICT ministry (Mintic) will allocate 260bn pesos (US$64.5mn) from the ICT fund for a project to connect 2,110 schools.
The Digital Power School 2.0 initiative is aimed at providing Wi-Fi zones in schools in towns, villages or communities in rural or isolated areas.
Under the program, Mintic plans to install 2,110 Wi-Fi zones in 353 municipalities in 28 departments, it said in a release.
Of the 260bn pesos budgeted, 60.9bn will be spent this year, 160bn in 2025 and the rest in 2026, according to tender details published on the Secop II procurement platform.
The document will be available for consultation until September 4. The final details will be published in mid-September, while the opening of bids is scheduled for October 4.
