Katie Collar’s young side then faced a stiff challenge against one of the very best professional clubs in the region, falling to Club América Femenil.
Now they face another talented team, testing themselves once again.
Santa Fe FC are champions of the professional women’s league in Panama.
They won the Central American championship – the Copa Interclubes Femenina UNCAF 2024 – over Alianza FC with a 4-0 win in July, so the ‘Caps know they are up against another talented team.
Santa Fe opened the Concacaf W Champions Cup with a heart fought 2-0 defeat against NWSL side San Diego Wave FC in Panama on August 20.

The group winners and runners-up (four clubs in total) will progress to the semifinals and ultimately the third place match and final, which is set to take place from May 22 to 25, 2025.
