Needing better results up front, Colorado football ran out a new-look starting offensive line in Saturday’s Rocky Mountain Showdown against rival Colorado State.
After starting at left guard in the Buffs’ first two games, Justin Mayers was not featured in the starting unit. Instead, Florida International transfer Phillip Houston started at right tackle and Tyler Brown was pushed to left guard. Brown, as a surprise to many, was Colorado’s starting right tackle against North Dakota State and Nebraska.
Hank Zilinskas (center), right guard Kahlil Benson (right guard) and Jordan Seaton (left tackle) remained at their starting spots.
To summarize, Colorado’s starting offensive line against CSU was Seaton (LT), Brown (LG), Zilinskas (C), Benson (RG) and Houston (RG).
Colorado’s O-line paved the way for 36 rushing yards and didn’t allow a sack in the first quarter. However, the Rams are currently up 3-0 early in the second quarter.
