20,000 pounds of beef recalled, USDA says

(CNN) – The U.S. Department of Agriculture said there is a recall for more than 20,000 pounds of beef products.

The frozen raw beef products are being recalled by South American Meat Inc.

U.S. regulators said the meat was imported from Uruguay but not properly re-inspected upon their entry into the U.S.

There have been no confirmed reports of sickness linked to the products sold under the label “Frigorifico Casa Blanca.”

The beef was shipped to distributors, restaurants, retailers, and institutions in Arizona, California, Oregon, and Washington.

Products under recall were imported on or around March 17, 2024.

They have the number 58 printed on the shipping box and vacuum-sealed product packaging.

The USDA said the products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
