The gala was held at Sandals Grande Antigua Resort & Spa with several senior government officials in attendance. Some 25 Canadian travel advisors were honoured with a Black Pineapple Award, including three from The Travel Agent Next Door: Melissa Doucet, Sonia Lawrence and Tari Gibson of Plan It Travel.
Arrivals to Antigua and Barbuda from Canada were up 13% last year.
“We are very proud of our agent partners winning three of the first Black Pineapple Awards,” said TTAND founder Flemming Friisdahl. “All the support team members at The Travel Agent Next Door are so excited to see when our partner agents get recognized for their hard and tireless work. We are so proud of our partners and what they have achieved. To know they are among the best in Canada and North America is amazing!”
