2024 Ballon d’Or: Inter and Argentina star Lautaro Martinez finishes seventh - Football Italia

Inter and Argentina striker Lautaro Martinez has finished in seventh place in the 2024 Ballon d’Or final rankings.

The Nerazzurri captain is the highest-placed Serie A representative on the 2024 Ballon d’Or rankings, finishing above Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman (14th), teammate Hakan Calhanoglu (20th), and Roma pair Artem Dovbyk and Mats Hummels (joint 29th). 

It was a prolific season in 2023-24 at club level for Martinez. He finished as the Serie A Capocannoniere with 30 goal involvements from 33 appearances in the league, consisting of 24 goals and six assists. 

That helped send Inter on their way to a dominant Serie A title, which they won by a 19-point margin, finishing above city rivals Milan in second place. 

Lautaro Martinez also finished as the Serie A MVP for the 2023-24 season as a result of his efforts.

He also had a productive summer away with Argentina, winning the Copa America trophy while finishing as the competition’s top goalscorer with a tally of five goals from six appearances. Even more impressively, he ended the tournament with a goal every 44 minutes.
