The semifinals of the 2024 Copa America have been confirmed.
Favorites Argentina, Colombia and Uruguay as well as Canada, under Jesse Marsch, are all still in contention as the tournament reaches its business end in the United States.
Unfortunately for the USMNT they won’t be part of it after they were eliminated in the group stage. Defeat to Panama in their second game left their progression to the next phase in doubt before a loss against Uruguay sealed their fate.
Lionel Messi’s Argentina are defending champions, having lifted the title for a record-equalling 15th time last time out in Brazil in 2021. Marcelo Bielsa’s Uruguay share that record and can take it outright with a title this year.
Colombia have impressed everyone with James Rodriguez rolling back the years and starring with Canada the tournament’s surprise package as they have advanced through to the semifinals in their first-ever appearance.
