The Finalissima, featuring 2024 European champions Spain and 2024 Copa America winners Argentina, is set to take place in March 2026, as reported by journalist Gastón Edul on social media.
It is confirmed that the match cannot be held in 2025 due to a lack of available dates in the calendar.
This will be the second Finalissima tournament in history. The first champion was Argentina, who defeated Italy 3-0 in the final, with goals from Lautaro Martínez, Angel Di María, and Paulo Dybala.
In their last friendly clash in 2018, Spain achieved a significant victory over Argentina, finishing the match with a score of 6-1. Goals for Spain came from Diego Costa, Iago Aspas, Thiago Alcantara, and Isco, who completed a hat-trick. Nicolas Otamendi scored the only goal for Argentina.
Previously, the Spanish national football team triumphed over France in the final of the men’s Olympic tournament.
