Canadian rapper Drake is known for his flashy bets and he has put a huge stake on the upcoming Copa America clash.
Rapper Drake has continued his run of outrageous bets after placing a mammoth $300,000 stake on the Copa America semi final clash between Argentina and his native Canada.
Whether it be on football or on UFC, ‘Drizzy’ is prone to a big flutter on sport and his latest punt is certainly an ambitious one.
His native Canada are one game from the Copa America final but their next opponents are the world champions, captained by eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi.
Jesse Marsch’s side have already been beaten by Argentina in the group stage, with Julian Alvarez and Lautaro Martinez scoring the goals in a 2-0 win.
However, Drake fancies Canada to produce quite the upset and has placed $300,000 on them doing the business.
If they do, Drake is set to make a massive $2.8 million – not that the rap sensation needs it.
The 37-year-old took to Instagram to share the slip, completion with the cheeky caption: “This could get Messi”.

Canada are guaranteed to be in the third place play-off at the bare minimum and will play Uruguay or Colombia in their next encounter depending on how the semi finals pan out.
But while Drake is an avid gambler, he is of course known for having a “curse’ attached to him when it comes to throwing his support behind individuals and teams prior to major sporting fixtures.
However the curse appeared to be lifted in December 2022 when Drake backed Argentina to win the World Cup final against France.

He made his prediction while wearing a Napoli shirt on a stream and there were concerns that he had cursed Messi.
Messi and Argentina were crowned world champions on penalties after a pulsating 3-3 draw.
But because it went to extra time and penalties, Drake, real name Aubrey Graham, lost $1 million.
