On track, in the first day of the second half of the 12-round season, the fastest rider overall was Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing Ducati), who finished one place ahead of eventual faller Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati).

Friday WorldSSP
Adrian Huertas (Aruba Racing Ducati) took the Superpole qualifying ‘win’ at Portimao by setting a best lap time almost a quarter of a second faster than his most regular 2024 competitor, Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team Ducati).
In third place the consistently fast four cylinder rider, Stefano Manzi (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha) headed up the quickest of the three cylinder machines ridden by Federico Caricasulo (Motozoo ME AIR Racing MV Agusta).
Huertas took P1 yet again in Supersport.
Fifth place was earned by the rejuvenated Jorge Navarro (Orelac Racing VerdNatura Ducati) and sixth by the lead Kawasaki of Can Öncü (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing). Öncü was just over one second slower than Huertas’ best time.
Lucas Mahias (GMT94 Yamaha), Valentin Debise (Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha), Marcel Schrötter (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) and Niki Tuuli (EAB Racing Ducati) completed the top ten in what was a hot Superpole session, with ambient temperatures of 34°C recorded. Due to a schedule change at this round, to allow for a twilight finish for the Superbike races on Saturday and Sunday, the WorldSSP Superpole session took place between 16.55 and 17.42 on Friday.
