Iberostar Hotels & Resorts recently concluded the summer season with double-digit growth, marking a year of transformation for the chain. With a new brand identity and a segmentation of its hotel portfolio, Iberostar is focusing on expanding its offerings in key destinations.
At the end of the 2024 summer season, Iberostar reports results that exceed demand forecasts. This positive momentum fuels its expansion plan for 2025, centered around beachfront properties and aimed at achieving economic, social, and environmental prosperity.
The year was marked by the reorganization of Iberostar’s offerings into three segments: Iberostar Waves, Iberostar Selection, and JOIA by Iberostar. These categories aim to better meet customer expectations by providing varied experiences and tailored services, always in beach destinations. This repositioning is accompanied by renovations in strategic locations, including Crete and Fuerteventura.
Throughout the year, several new properties have opened in Europe by Iberostar:
In June, the chain inaugurated the Iberostar Selection Creta Marine, located in northern Crete, Greece. This hotel features 361 sea-view rooms and offers access to three picturesque coves. It also includes gardens with local plant species, as well as nine restaurants and bars serving fresh and natural products.
In August, the Iberostar Waves Gaviotas Park opened in Fuerteventura, Spain. This all-inclusive family resort offers 237 spacious rooms and suites, most of which can accommodate up to six people. Facilities include five outdoor pools, a fully equipped spa, and areas designed for children.
Additionally, the Iberostar Selection Eolia Djerba has been added to the chain’s portfolio. Located on the northeast coast of Djerba, Tunisia, this hotel offers direct beach access, a thalassotherapy center, and a variety of dining options inspired by Mediterranean flavors.
Future projects in Spain and Tunisia
In Spain, Iberostar plans to expand its presence with the opening of the Iberostar Selection Es Trenc in Mallorca in April 2025. This will be the brand’s 16th hotel on the island, with renovation work planned to improve its facilities and services.
In Tunisia, the fully renovated Iberostar Selection Mirage Hammamet will become Iberostar’s eighth hotel in the country. It will have 271 rooms, mainly bungalows with sea views, as well as a sandy beach.
Projects in America
Iberostar plans to expand its presence in America with the opening of JOIA Aruba by Iberostar, a five-star resort scheduled to open in December 2024. Located on Eagle Beach, this hotel will include 240 suites offering sea views.
“This year has been challenging, but inspiring and rewarding. The positive results from the summer season affirm our belief that our efforts to refresh and segment our portfolio have provided a strong foundation for future growth. As we look forward to 2025, we remain committed to creating memorable experiences for our guests through a differentiated product offering, while striving to leave a responsible and sustainable legacy in the destinations we serve.” – Phil Mc Aveety, CEO of Iberostar Hotels & Resorts
