The island is known for its coral reefs, outdoor adventures, animal sanctuaries, national parks, cactus-filled deserts, and year-round sunshine. The flights are primarily focused on leisure travelers and are scheduled to depart on Tuesdays and Saturdays at the following times:
Flight
Departure
Arrival
1643
New York JFK – 07:00
Bonaire – 12:38
1644
Bonaire – 14:14
New York JFK – 18:00
The flight will not face any direct competition on the route. United Airlines currently serves Bonaire from nearby Newark (EWR) and Houston. Delta Air Lines has a weekly link from Atlanta, and American Airlines connects the airport to Miami. Maarten van der Scheer, CEO of Bonaire International Airport, expressed his excitement for the first flight to arrive:
“We are excited to celebrate the launch of this new direct flight from New York’s JFK to Bonaire.
“Welcoming JetBlue to Flamingo Airport, with a twice-weekly, year-round service, has been made possible through the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of many partners working toward the same goal: increasing connectivity to Bonaire and making it easier than ever for travelers to reach our beautiful island.”

This is the second new route Bonaire has welcomed this week. The airport welcomed the first flight from Corendon Airlines with an Airbus A350 on Sunday, November 3rd. Also offered twice weekly, the flights depart on Wednesdays and Sundays from Amsterdam with a stop in Curaçao on the way to Bonaire and from Bonaire direct to Amsterdam.
