The Little League World Series is here, where 12-year-olds from all parts of the world come together to find out who the best baseball team is.
This year the Southwest Region will be represented by the West Texas team, Boerne Little League. The state of Texas has the second-most Little League World Series appearances with 29 (California leads with 50, Florida and Pennsylvania are tied for third with 24). However, they’ve only made the finals once since 2001, with Lufkin LL finishing as the runner-up in 2017.

The U.S. Region and International Regions will first face each other in separate brackets before the best of each will vie for the championship.

The tournament is double-elimination. If Boerne LL wins, they’ll face off in Game 24 with the winner of Game 12 between the Northwest team and either the Midwest or Southeast team. That game will be 7 p.m. Monday at Lamade Stadium. Two more wins would send Boerne to the U.S. title game — which Needville, Texas, lost last year to the eventual champions from California.
If Boerne loses, it heads to the elimination bracket for a game at 7 p.m. Saturday vs. the loser of New England vs. West. From there, it would have to win five games straight to make the U.S final.
