A judge in the Bahamas has revoked bail for Lindsay Shiver, who is accused of hiring a hitman to kill her former husband, ex-Atlanta Falcons player Robert Shiver, with the help of her boyfriend.
Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson revoked the bail of Shiver, 37, and Terrance Bethel, 30, after they appeared on “Good Morning America,” according to Loop News.
Both Bethel and Shiver appeared on the segment, though only Bethel spoke.
Grant-Thompson called their appearance on the show a “blatant disregard for the court’s leniency and indulgence,” adding, “This cannot and will not be tolerated. What the respondents have done can be seen by the applicant as a spit in the face of justice.”
Owen Wells, Shiver’s attorney based in Nassau, confirmed to Fox News that Shiver is back in prison.
Shiver, along with Bethel, and the alleged hitman, Faron Newbold Jr., were arrested in the Bahamas in July 2023. They have all pleaded not guilty.
Authorities said they plotted to kill Shiver’s husband, Robert Shiver, while the couple was getting divorced.
Police learned about the plot after seizing a phone while investigating a break-in at a bar.
Shiver a former Alabama beauty queen, was out on $100,000 bail, and required to wear an electronic monitoring device, follow a curfew, stay at least 100 feet away from the complainant and witnesses, and refrain from traveling abroad without court permission.
The court later allowed her to travel to the United States, but she could not enter Georgia, where her husband lives, unless she needed to engage in custody and divorce proceedings.
