Attracting the next generation of young professionals, all while ensuring an organization goes above and beyond for its current employees, is a priority for any forward-thinking leader. The executives at the helm of this year’s Best Credit Unions to Work For honorees are launching new programs that do just that.
Seventy credit unions across the U.S. made the list this year, from as small as 25 employees at the $181 million-asset Railway Credit Union in North Dakota, to as large as 3,327 employees at the $20 billion-asset America First Credit Union in Ogden, Utah.
Honorees were scored and ranked through two surveys with the help of Best Companies Group. The first survey was completed by employees to measure their satisfaction and covered eight areas, including leadership and planning, corporate culture and communication and overall engagement.
The second form reviewed and weighed the benefits and policies of each credit union, including leading programs such as cost-free telehealth visits, employee appreciation events, volunteer opportunities and more.
Of the institutions that made the list, 92% of employees said they were satisfied with their current employer according to survey data. This figure among those that did not make the list was 87%.
The data goes deeper to show that 77% of honorees’ employees felt that if they did good work, they would be sufficiently rewarded. Among the staff of non-honorees, this number dropped to 70%.
