Carnival Cruise Line was founded in 1972 and has been growing ever since. Its latest ships are Carnival Jubilee, which set sail last December, and Carnival Firenze, now sailing from Long Beach.
Carnival Cruise Line is owned by Carnival Corporation, which also owns Princess Cruises, Holland America Line and Cunard Line, among others.

Princess Cruises first set sail in 1965 with a single ship cruising to Mexico. The line sailed into stardom in 1977 when one of its ships, Pacific Princess, was cast in a starring role on the popular TV series, “The Love Boat.”
Princess Cruises continues to share the love with multi-course meals, Broadway-style shows, comedy acts and bands, and comfortable staterooms featuring the Princess Luxury Bed. Viking’s Inclusive Value covers everything guests need. Ocean voyages include a complimentary shore excursion in every port; free Wi-Fi; free beer, wine and soft drinks with onboard lunch and dinner; complimentary alternative dining; plus 24-hour room service, afternoon tea service and self-service launderettes, according to a spokesperson.
Onboard activities focus on enrichment, offering lectures about the destination’s history presented by Viking’s resident historians or experts, as well as discussions on art, cooking demonstrations of regional favorites and more.
