BIMINI, Bahamas (WKRC) – Two women were injured, one seriously, in an alleged shark attack that resulted in the victims being airlifted to a hospital for treatment, police said.
According to a press release from the Royal Bahamas Police Force, police were notified of “an alleged shark attack” involving two American women that occurred at around 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
Police said that the victims were injured while swimming in Bimini Bay, with one of the victim’s injuries being listed as serious. The pair was treated at a local clinic before being airlifted to a larger facility in New Providence.
Police said that the investigation was still ongoing.
