As Carnival Corp. invests in Celebration Key, a new private beach destination in Grand Bahama, the company will expand an existing private destination, Half Moon Cay.
Plans call for expanded beach, dining and beverage experiences at the Bahamian island, which is primarily used by Holland America Line but also its sister lines. The work is in addition to plans announced in 2019 to build a pier that will allow some of ships to dock.
The enhancements will make way for Carnival Cruise Line’s Excel-class ships (Mardi Gras, Celebration and Jubilee) to visit Half Moon Cay for the first time.
Carnival Cruise Line will weave calls at the refreshed Half Moon Cay into several 2026 and 2027 cruises sailing from Miami, Port Canaveral, Galveston and Baltimore, with more itinerary announcements are to come.
From Miami, the Carnival Celebration will cruise the eastern and western Caribbean with itineraries calling at Celebration Key, Nassau and Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, Amber Cove (Dominican Republic), Cozumel, Mahogany Bay (Roatan), St. Thomas and San Juan.
Out of Port Canaveral, Mardi Gras will sail seven-day cruises in the eastern and western Caribbean, including new itineraries that feature both Celebration Key and Half Moon Cay, along with a mix of calls at Grand Turk, Amber Cove, Nassau, Cozumel and Mahogany Bay.
The Carnival Jubilee, sailing out of Galveston, will sail six- and eight-day cruises to the Western Caribbean and the Bahamas. The eight-day voyages will call at Key West, Nassau, Half Moon Cay and Celebration Key.
Several cruises on the Carnival Dream, sailing out of Galveston, will call at both Celebration Key and Half Moon Cay. The ship will sail six-, seven- and eight-day cruises to the eastern and western Caribbean. The ship will also sail 14-day cruises to the eastern and southern Caribbean with calls that include Ocho Rios, Barbados, St. Lucia and St. Kitts.
From Baltimore, the Carnival Pride will sail cruises calling at Half Moon Cay or Princess Cays and Celebration Key, along with Nassau. The ship will also sail cruises to Bermuda with an overnight stay.
