Lockton Re has announced the appointment of Kristopher Lynn (pictured right) as senior broker and practice leader for agriculture.
Lynn will be based in Lockton Re’s Bermuda office, where he will collaborate with colleagues and clients globally.
Lynn joins Lockton Re from Terra Underwriting Management, and previously served as president of AgriSompo, Sompo’s agriculture division in Bermuda, which he joined in 2014.
With nearly 20 years of industry experience, Lynn has also held positions at Tokio Millennium Re and ACE, and served on the boards of Gestione Rischi Agricoli Integrati and A&A S.r.l. His experience spans various sectors of the re/insurance industry and different regions globally.
Nick Durant, CEO of North America at Lockton Re, commented on Lynn’s appointment, stating that the company is launching a new global Agriculture Practice. He noted that building capability for clients and partners in this area has been a priority, and Lynn’s experience and expertise make him a strong fit for this role, both professionally and culturally.
As the new practice leader for agriculture at Lockton Re, Lynn also expressed confidence in his new role, citing the company’s reputation and success over the past five years.
He said that the support and positive environment at Lockton Re make it an ideal place to build a best-in-class agriculture practice and enhance service and product offerings for agriculture clients worldwide.
Keith Harrison, CEO of International at Lockton Re, also highlighted the firm’s global team structure, which Harrison said allows for the quick and seamless launch of new practices and the delivery of expertise to clients and prospects.
Harrison pointed out that the agriculture reinsurance sector has traditionally seen limited broker choice and innovation compared to other specialty classes.
Lynn’s appointment closely follows that of Andrew Ferrier, who has been named senior broker in Lockton Re’s property and casualty business on the West Coast, based in San Francisco.
