6 p.m. | The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch in Omaha until 1 a.m.
Storms moving into southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa Wednesday evening could bring hail up to 2.5 inches in diameter, damaging winds up to 75 mph, localized flooding and possibly a tornado or two, according to the National Weather Service’s office in Valley.
The area where storms are most likely to develop between 5 to 8 p.m. includes Omaha, Lincoln, Fremont, Beatrice, Nebraska City and Tekamah all the way east to Atlantic, Iowa, according to the weather service.
