HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 25 (ACN) Cuba and Bolivia are among the 13 nations that were admitted into the BRICS as partners (non-members), announced on X the account of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP).
The incorporation of these new partner countries is seen as a sign that the BRICS seek to strengthen multilateral cooperation to expand their influence in the international arena, the message on the social network stated.
Jorge Arreaza, executive secretary of ALBA-TCP, on Telegram, described it as a cause of pride and great hope for the people of the Global South to see Venezuela, Cuba, Bolivia and Nicaragua present at the BRICS Summit being held in Kazan, Russia.
By essence and definition, our Bolivarian Alliance is an indisputable part of the confirmation of the new world order, Arreaza wrote on his message, quoted by ALBA-TCP’s X account.
The other countries included as partners in BRICS are Algeria, Belarus, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
