After two Latin American countries announced that they are withdrawing recognition of «SADR», the Polisario rushed into naming a new «ambassador» to Bolivia, a central South America state.
According to the Front’s news agency (SPS), Mohamed Salem Daha Lehbib was received, Wednesday, by Bolivian President Juan Evo Morales. Daha Lehbib «expressed his satisfaction for the meeting, which he described as a sign of Bolivian solidarity and support for the Saharawi people».
Daha Lehbib added that «the strengthening of relations will result in significant advances in the support of Bolivia and its citizens to the cause and struggle of the Saharawi people».
In Latin America, Bolivia remains a strategic ally for Brahim Ghali’s movement. This state, recognized «SADR» in December 1982, only four months after Venezuela (August 1982) did the same. Bolivia has never changed its position regarding the Western Sahara conflict.
For the record, earlier in June, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele said on his Twitter account that San Salvador has withdrawn its recognition of «SADR». The decision was announced after Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita visited the country as part of a tour to Latin America.
Days later, Barbados announced that it withdrew recognition of «SADR», during a visit conducted by the country’s Prime Minister Mia Mottley to Morocco.
