The nations in Group D played their first matches in the group stage of the Copa America football competition being held in the US.
In Houston, Colombia defeated Paraguay 2-1. Colombia and Crystal Palace defender Daniel Munoz opened the scoring in the 32nd minute. Ten minutes later, Crystal Palace midfielder Jefferson Lerma doubled Colombia’s lead. And in the 69th minute, Paraguay and Brighton striker Julio Enciso reduced the score difference.
And in the other Group D match, Brazil played a goalless draw with Costa Rica, in Los Angeles.
