Brazil striker Endrick sustained a minor thigh injury after being forced off on a stretcher while playing for Palmeiras on Wednesday night.
The 17-year-old — who will join Real Madrid later this summer — underwent medical tests on Thursday after pulling up with a hip injury during the Brazilian side’s Copa Libertadores match against Independiente del Valle.
The assessments revealed swelling in his right thigh. The injury is not considered serious and he is set to continue playing for Palmeiras until this summer’s Copa America, following concerns the injury meant he had played his last game for the club.
Endrick was treated by the club’s medical staff on the pitch before leaving the field of play on a stretcher. He was later seen applying ice to the apparent injury.
Palmeiras — 2-0 up at the time of his exit from the game — went on to win 2-1.
The Copa America kicks off in the United States on June 20.
Endrick was included as part of Dorival Jr’s Brazil squad, one of the favourites of the competition, and is scheduled to join up with them on June 3.
Manchester United’s Casemiro, who has won 75 caps for his country, was left out.
Endrick agreed to move to Madrid for a fixed €35million fee plus €25m in variables in December 2022.
He will officially join in July but will be prohibited from training with the squad, until the 21st of that month (when he turns 18).
