British Airways Increases South American Frequencies

DALLAS — British Airways (BA) has announced it is expanding the number of flights it operates between London and South America starting in October.

The British flag carrier will enhance its daily service from London Heathrow (LHR) to Rio de Janeiro (GIG) in Brazil and Buenos Aires (EZE) in Argentina. BA will also boost its frequency of flights to São Paulo (SAO) from seven to ten times a week.

The nearly half-day flights to the aforementioned South American destinations will be significantly more comfortable thanks to the larger and better Airbus A350, Boeing 777 and 787 aircraft.

In terms of capacity, BA can carry approximately 330 passengers for the A350; 300-350 passengers for the 777-300ER; and 214 passengers for the 787-8, 256 passengers for the 787-9, and 318 passengers for the 787-10.
