The 5 US-Caribbean Routes Served More Than Daily By Silver Airways' ATRs This December

Silver Airways is a regional airline that primarily operates flights between Florida and the Bahamas. With headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the carrier also has a presence across the Southeast. It operates a fleet of modern turboprop aircraft – the ATR 42-600 and ATR 72-600. The aircraft feature the widest cabin among any regional aircraft and also offer spacious full-size overhead bins for carry-on baggage.

Silver’s network across the Caribbean and revenue were significantly bolstered in 2018 when it acquired Seaborne Airlines. Based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Seaborne serves several destinations throughout the US Virgin Islands and other countries in the region. Different from Silver, the airline has a fleet of two de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter seaplanes that primarily serve one of the most critical links between St. Croix and St. Thomas.

Among some of its busiest routes, Silver offers as many as 10,000 monthly seats, thanks to multiple frequencies. According to aviation data and analytics provider Cirium, here are the airline’s top five routes between the US and the Caribbean that will be served more than daily next month:

1 San Juan – St. Croix
228 flights

The short journey of roughly 30 minutes between Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) and Henry E. Rohlsen Airport (STX) serving St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, is Silver’s busiest, with just under 230 frequencies. FlightAware data shows the airline offers as many has four daily flights. The first flight, SIL132, departs San Juan around 07:30 and arrives around 08:00. The second flight, SIL122, leaves at 11:00 and lands at roughly 11:30. SIL125 is the third frequency, departing just after 14:00 and arriving before 14:40, while the fourth flight, SIL131, has a departure time of 16:50 and arrival time of 17:30.

The journey is about one hour and 30 minutes in each direction – longer than the other aforementioned routes. As such, its ASM count is significantly higher. Across the operation next month, Silver will offer just over 40 frequencies each way:
