Inter Milan & Canada Star’s Return From Injury Edging Ever Closer – Dates Revealed
Inter Milan wingback Tajon Buchanan will reportedly return to the fold next month following a lengthy injury ordeal.
The 25-year-old suffered a broken tibia last July while with the Canadian national team during the Copa America.
The former Club Brugge man had to go under the knife, and he’s been out of action ever since.
But while initial diagnosis suggested a return between December and January, the Canadian has been well ahead of schedule.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, Buchanan will resume training with his teammates during the international in October.
This would pave the way for his return to action after the break. The wingback could thus receive a call-up for the clash against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on October 20th.
Buchanan signed for the Nerazzurri last January as a replacement for Juan Cuadrado who was nursing an injury at the time.
Inter Milan Wingback Tajon Buchanan To Return To Action After The International Break
The Canada international made 10 appearances for the Italian champions last season, all coming off the bench. Hence, he has yet to make his full debut for the club.
The Ontario native is originally a right winger, but Simone Inzaghi has been deploying him as a left wingback.
Last season, he served as a backup for Federico Dimarco, thus pushing Carlos Augusto to a deeper role.
The Brazilian turned into Alessandro Bastoni’s understudy in the left centre-back role.
Nevertheless, Augusto has been covering both positions with Buchanan out of action and new signing Tomas Palacios still adjusting to life at Appiano Gentile.
