ROB FINNERTY (HOST): All right. I’m not joking, though. In all seriousness, if you stop and think about Canada as a state, it’s not the worst idea that I’ve ever heard. And this country, America, has actually considered it several times before, the first by our founders. Quebec was considered as a state in 1777. They didn’t go through with it. It was also seriously considered after the Civil War as well. And tariffs would be off the table because, of course, Canada wouldn’t be exporting foreign goods anymore. And hockey — back to hockey. If you love hockey, how about the best players in the Jets, the Oilers, the Canadiens, the Canucks, the Flames and the Senators all playing for the U.S. Olympic hockey team? And we’d bring back the Nordiques, OK? I’d make sure that Donald Trump brought back the Quebec Nordiques. How about that? And poutine — that would now be American food. There’s no such thing as a Canadian restaurant. You go to a Chinese restaurant, you don’t go to a Canadian restaurant. Poutine. It’s French fries, cheese and gravy. It is great. Not great for you. What about Canadian health care? We could prove once and for all that Canadian health care is a complete joke. And the Canadian criminal justice system — we could get rid of these red Santa Claus robes. They really wear these. They still wear these during court cases. Imagine that. Literally. I feel like it’s a scene out of the North Pole. They’re all going to make toys in ten minutes. We might be the best thing that ever happened to Canada. During Covid, it was worse in Canada than it was here. Trudeau froze the bank accounts of hundreds of truckers when they protested Covid mandates.
Canada might need us. Canada needs Donald Trump. In Canada, free speech is so limited it doesn’t exist like we have it here. When anti-Christian arsonists burned more than 50 Catholic churches across Canada, Justin Trudeau didn’t declare a state of emergency. So how did all this happen so quickly in a country as nice and moderate as Canada? Well, it happened the way it always happens — maximum aggression and limited popular support. People like Justin Trudeau praised diversity while demanding conformity. He is passive aggressive. All the smiles in the world for the cameras, but no less dangerous. One morning you wake up and your job’s been canceled and they take away your bank account for the crime of disagreeing with this man, Justin Trudeau, in blackface. Take a look at who Justin Trudeau says he admires.

FINNERTY: I’m for this now. I want this to happen. Make Canada the 51st state. We’ll change all the flags. And if the U.S. does annex Canada, Trump could put Justin Trudeau in the very important role of governor — governor of Canada, America until he loses his next election, which will likely happen because maybe Trump was joking. Then again, maybe he wasn’t.
