AI – THE NEXT GENERATION: FUSION OF BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGY
The University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI) has announced that the Cayman Islands has been chosen to host the upcoming IACBE (International Accreditation Council for Business Education) Conference (Caribbean and Latin America), set to take place on November 21-22, 2024.
This premier two-day event, organized by UCCI and themed ‘AI – The Next Generation: Fusion of Business and Technology,’ will bring together global experts, business leaders, tech enthusiasts, educators, and students for a unique and insightful exploration of artificial intelligence and its integration into the business world. People at all stages of their career are invited to attend to meet and greet some of the best business minds in the Caribbean and beyond.
Hosted at UCCI’s Sir Vassel Johnson Hall, the conference offers both in-person and virtual attendance options. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from renowned speakers, engage in panel discussions on critical topics, and expand their networks with like-minded professionals who are passionate about the future of AI and technology.

Conference highlights:
Day 1 (Thursday, November 21st):
The day will open with welcoming remarks by UCCI President Dr. Robert Robertson, Dr. Byron Coon of ICCI, and Ms. Vanessa St. Laurent from IACBE.
A keynote on “Integrating Cutting-Edge Technology in Business” will be delivered by Dr. James Stanger, CompTIA Technology Evangelist.
The agenda includes a panel discussion on the future of work, moderated by Dr. Robertson, featuring influential business leaders like Charlie Kirkconnell (CEO, Cayman Enterprise City) and Woody Foster (Managing Director, Fosters).
The day will also feature a Women in Technology panel sponsored by Walkers, with Efe Avan-Nomayo (Regulatory Associate, Walkers), Vanessa Slowey (Ex-Global CEO, Digicel), Alexandra Forssell (Cybersecurity Director, Deloitte), and other prominent female technology leaders.
The day will conclude with breakout sessions on faculty development, the importance of digital skills, and ethical considerations in technology.
Day 2 (Friday, November 22nd):
The second day will begin with a plenary keynote by Cayman Finance CEO Steve McIntosh, focusing on Cayman’s role as a global financial hub and the implications of AI in the finance sector.
The agenda also includes peer-reviewed faculty and student presentations, closing remarks by UCCI leaders, and an exciting opportunity to tour Cayman’s leading finance companies and Enterprise City.
