Canada and Chile must leave it all on the line when they meet for their Copa America 2024 Group A decider on Saturday.
Canada currently stands 2nd in Group A with three points from their opening two games. They started their campaign with a tough match against reigning world champions Argentina where, despite a valiant effort, they lost but showed resilience.
A follow-up narrow win over Peru boosted the team’s morale and confidence, and more importantly gives them a great chance of making the quarterfinals.
Chile, on the other hand, are in third place in Group A with just one point from their first two games. They began with a draw against Peru and narrowly lost to Argentina but, despite recent struggles, they will be favored by many to get the job done here.
For Canada, a win would secure their place in the knockout stages, marking a successful debut in the Copa America and for new coach Jesse Marsch.

Canada vs. Chile confirmed lineups & team news
Canada head coach Marsch has a decision to make as to whether to stick with a winning second-half lineup against Chile, after his changes paid off against Peru.
Derek Cornelius, Liam Millar and Ismael Kone were all withdrawn at halftime in the second Group A match, as Jonathan David’s 74th-minute winner edged a tight game.
Kamal Miller could replace Cornelius in central defense, while Richie Laryea is likely to keep his spot, allowing Alphonso Davies to play further forward.
Canada’s attack will likely feature top scorers Cyle Larin and Jonathan David. Jacob Shaffelburg comes in after impressing off the bench against Peru as well but Marsch has been reluctant to make huge changes to his starting lineups since taking charge.
Canada confirmed starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Crepeau (GK) — Johnston, Bombito, Miller, Laryea — Osorio, Eustaquio — Shaffelburg, David, Davies — Larin.
For Chile, coach Ricardo Gareca might make a few changes. Ben Brereton Diaz is pushing to start ahead of Eduardo Vargas or Victor Davila in attack, but Gareca went with Vargas and Davila in the end to start up top.
Young winger Dario Osorio keeps his place on the right, while veteran Alexis Sanchez will continue in the number 10 role. Midfielder Erick Pulgar, one booking away from suspension, is expected to start alongside Rodrigo Echeverria or Marcelino Nunez.
Gareca himself will also be absent from the touchline, after he was suspended by CONMEBOL for one match due to delaying the restart by bringing a substitute on against Argentina at halftime.
Chile confirmed starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Arias (GK) — Isla, Lichnovsky, Maripan, Suazo — Nunez, Echeverria — Osorio, Sanchez, Davila — Vargas.
