Global property and casualty insurer Chubb has announced the appointment of Mario Romanelli as Regional President South America and Diego Sosa as Regional President Northern Latin America, effective immediately.
Romanelli will leverage his two decades of industry experience to lead Chubb’s regional office in Miami as well as the company’s operations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
The executive has been part of Chub since 2007 and has held a number of roles ever since. Before that he served at Asociación de Aseguradores de Chile, AIG and Zurich.
Sosa, who brings 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, will continue to lead Chubb’s operations in Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America and its business in Panama and Puerto Rico.
Prior to joining Chubb seven years ago, Sosa had been with QBE for over five years. Through his career he has also held roles at ACE Group, CIGNA, Banco del Pichincha among others.
They will both port to Paul McNamee, Executive Vice President, Chubb Group and President, Chubb Overseas General, who commented: I’m excited to announce the promotion of two of our most experienced, proven and accomplished leaders to accelerate the success we are experiencing across the region.
“Mario and Diego will empower us to continue advancing the full capabilities of Chubb, providing even greater focus and service quality for our commercial and consumer clients and partners.”
The insurer also announced that Federico Spagnoli, who previously served as Regional President, Latin America, is leaving Chubb to pursue other opportunities.
