As Argentina prepares for their upcoming matches against Chile and Colombia, head coach Lionel Scaloni addressed the media in a press conference, shedding light on the squad’s composition and the inclusion of Roma attacker Paulo Dybala, who was notably absent from the Copa America-winning team.
“The decision to call up Paulo Dybala has nothing to do with him staying in Italy,” Scaloni clarified.
“We value him for what he brings on the pitch. The selection was made with the team’s needs in mind, considering that he could be an asset at any moment.”
He added, “Given the absence of some players, he becomes a valuable option who can make a significant contribution.”
Despite excluding him from the Copa America, Scaloni’s comments reiterate his belief in Dybala and highlight the tactical flexibility and depth he offers.
