“Something that was really great to hear from the folks at Callizo, and the thing that they said was really their key decision-making factor, was the natural beauty of the area,” Trahan explained. It’s not every day you hear about a company choosing a location for its aesthetics, but in this case, the picturesque surroundings of Palestine played a major role.

Jobs and Economic Growth

The new facility in Palestine will create over 50 full-time jobs, catering to a range of skill levels. This is a big deal for the local economy, providing opportunities for employment and contributing to the growth of the area.

Trahan emphasized the uniqueness of Callizo’s products and the potential impact on the community. “Callizo offers a unique product that many other companies can’t bring to the table for a community,” he said. The idea that the fragrance in your soap or the flavor in your candy could be made right in your own backyard is an exciting prospect for the residents of Palestine.

A Willy Wonka-Like Opportunity

Trahan also touched on the whimsical nature of Callizo’s work, comparing it to something out of a Willy Wonka story. “The concept of the place that manufactures the flavor you might taste in a given candy or the fragrance that you might smell on a soap, it’s kind of Willy Wonka-like in a way. To think that could happen in our own backyards…” he mused.

It’s this kind of unique and imaginative work that makes Callizo stand out in its industry. Their ability to create not just scents and flavors, but also pet food products that enhance the quality and safety of what our pets eat, shows the breadth of their capabilities.

Looking Ahead

The plan is for the new facility to be up and running before the end of the year. Once the initial operations begin, Callizo Aromas hopes to be fully operational by March of next year. This timeline reflects the company’s commitment to quickly integrating into the community and starting production as soon as possible.

As Callizo Aromas sets up shop in Palestine, Texas, it’s clear that this isn’t just another factory opening.
