Silvestre Nosara, a boutique resort and residential development on Costa Rica’s Gold Coast, just opened its doors in March of this year, and its prized penthouse is now up for sale.
Nosara, a sleeping fishing town in the province of Guanacaste, has been undergoing a metamorphosis of sorts, with a spate of new hotels set to make their debut next year. Entrepreneur Chris Ingham Brooke first visited the area in 2016 and five years later snapped up a commercial lot where he erected Silvestre Nosara with nine beachside condos available for purchase, including a 2,000-square-foot penthouse priced at $2.5 million.

The tropical abode comprises four bedrooms and four bathrooms; plus, it comes fully furnished, so essentially all you’ll have to bring is your toothbrush and a bathing suit. The home itself takes advantage of its rainforest surroundings, with canopy views of the Central American jungle and lush garden terraces, while the interiors are decked out with handmade Indonesian ceramics, colorful artwork by painter Allegra Pacheco, and stone flooring that make the place feel like an extension of the natural landscape.

For the gastronomically inclined, you’ll find a fully equipped chef’s kitchen that sports top-of-the-line appliances from Smeg and Bosch. There’s also a large dining area, which includes a bar and a massive wooden table with enough seating for up to 10 guests.
The resort portion of the development, which residents have access to, offers a slate of amenities, including a rooftop infinity pool and a state-of-the-art wellness studio. A surf-friendly beach dubbed Playa Guiones is a few steps away, and guests have the option to book surf lessons or excursions through an on-site concierge who can also handle everything from grocery shopping to restaurant reservations and car rentals.
Bedrooms are adorned with bespoke built-ins and a wall-mounted surfboard.
The resort has plans to expand with the development of another 22-room luxury hotel. Condo owners who aren’t planning to live full time in the expat-friendly Central American country can opt to enter their home into a rental program, generating income to cover expenses while they’re away. And, in case you needed proof that the vacation rental market in Central America is booming, Costa Rica just hit a tourism milestone in July with a whopping 1.77 million international visitors.
