A second, more powerful quake rocked southern Cuba on Sunday, US geologists said, shortly after a first shallow tremor that did not prompt a tsunami alert.
The US Geological Survey put the second quake at a magnitude of 6.8 and 14.6 miles (23.5 kilometers) deep, some 25 miles off the coast of Bartolome Maso — very close to where a 5.9 magnitude quake struck an hour earlier.
