Two young Cubans who successfully fled the country have shared their harrowing experiences of life on the island, highlighting how the communist regime has torn families and friendships apart.

In an interview on Juanje Diánez's podcast, Moisés Morell and Christian Pérez Pérez recounted their escape from Cuba's oppressive government. During the discussion, Moisés painted a stark picture of Cuba, describing it as a prison where citizens lack the freedom to leave or access the outside world. Despite the introduction of the internet in 2016, the island remains isolated with only five television channels, all under state control.

The Stranglehold of the Cuban Regime Education in Cuba is a tool for indoctrination, with textbooks designed to instill unwavering loyalty to communism and mandatory political activities like marches and meetings. Furthermore, Moisés explained how the regime maintains control through relentless surveillance, with neighbors potentially acting as government informants.

He also spoke of the severe food shortages, frequent power outages, and how Fidel Castro manipulated history to maintain his grip on power. After completing his medical studies, Moisés sought freedom in Finland, navigating the cultural shock and opportunities that life in Europe offered, far from Cuba's stifling oppression.

Separation from Loved Ones Chris shared his heartache about his mother, who remains in Cuba. "It's hard to think about being so far from her and not knowing if we'll ever reunite. We're at risk of them not being allowed to experience what we know today."
