Santo Domingo (Agenzia Fides) – With the aim of offering drinking water to 1,400 children who are guests at the Hogar Escuela Santo Domingo Savio educational center, the Salesian Congregation has launched the initiative “A light, a smile”. We are talking about a charity dinner to raise funds. The initiative was born from the desire of employees to work for children, to contribute to their health, their education, improve their lifestyle, especially in this Christmas season. Hogar Escuela Santo Domingo Savio is an educational center that provides training to children who belong to families in extreme poverty and at high risk. It is managed by the Salesian Congregation and the Boys and Girls Network with Don Bosco. It is a home that welcomes, a school that educates, a church that evangelizes and a garden where teenagers can create real bonds of friendship. The Centre provides quality education to boys and girls of the community, from first to sixth year of primary school. With the construction of the new building of the primary school the number of children has been extended to 450.
