The annual Hispanic Heritage Weekend celebration returns to Chase Field this Friday just in time for the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks series.

The three-day celebration that will pay tribute to different cultures and groups of the Latino community — including those from the Caribbean, Central America and Mexico — promises a weekend filled with live music, food, the presence of Mexican teams from the Liga ARCO Mexicana, gifts for fans and, of course, baseball.

Here’s everything you need to know about the celebratory weekend.

Dodgers vs. Diamondbacks at Chase Field

The number one attraction of the annual Hispanic Heritage Weekend celebration at Chase Field is the Dodgers vs. Diamondbacks series. The teams are battling for the National League West crown and seen as icons in the Hispanic community.

Over the years, the Dodgers have been the favorite team of many Latinos, and since their arrival in 1998, the Arizona Diamondbacks have also attracted fans from said community.

In addition to the games, as is tradition, fans can enjoy a free concert after Saturday’s contest. In years past, Mexican groups Laberinto and La Brisa have taken the stage. This year, Grupo Control, originally from Tamaulipas, Mexico, will be the group setting the mood on the field.

Lastly, fans will have a chance to meet players from teams of the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacifico, a Mexican baseball league celebrating its 80th anniversary. Team members will be present during Saturday’s game at La Terraza of Chase Field (located in the upper right field concourse).

The Liga ARCO team mascots will join Baxter, the Diamondbacks mascot, during the game.
