Ecuador name Sebastián Beccacece as new head coach 🇪🇨
Ecuador have confirmed the appointment of Sebastián Beccacece as the new men’s national team head coach on Thursday.
The 43-year-old previously managed Elche in Spain’s Segunda División and is the replacement for former manager Felix Sanchez, who was sacked after the nation’s Copa América exit.
Ecuador reached the quarter-finals of this summer’s tournament before falling to eventual champions Argentina on penalties.
Beccacece will now guide La Tri into the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He is the 10th individual born in Argentina to manage the national team. He is also a former Chilean and Argentina national team staff member.
